You finally decided to buy that old game that you used to play back in the day. The most optimal way to play AoE3 is using The Asian Dynasties version of the game this is considered the final official version of the game, and is where a majority of online players reside. This guide presupposes that you have purchased Age of Empires 3: The Complete Collection, which includes the base Age of Empires 3 game ("Nilla") and The WarChiefs (TWC) and The Asian Dynasties (TAD) expansion packs. Whether you have heard of it just now or are a returning player coming back with a quaint sense of nostalgia for the game you played as a kid, this guide should serve as a launching pad for quickly getting you set up and immersed in the world of Age of Empires 3 and its online community. So you're interested in Age of Empires 3! A great choice - even after almost 15 years since its initial launch, Age of Empires 3 is a game that has stood the test of time as a unique and beautifully designed Real Time Strategy game that expands on the Age of Empires franchise.

The credits you pillage are instantly useable.there's no fleet return to drop of res like in ogame.īut I will concede that the UI is not nearly as good as oGame, and does take a little getting used to.Age of Empires 3 - The New Player's Guide to AoE3, ESO, and ESOCommunity You actually land on other planets.do you thing, and then you can head out to another planet.so if you find a good cluster of raidables, you can go from one, to the next, to the next. This is because you can always be scouting for targets and playing with a mobile fleet making raids by hopping from planet to planet.

The general style of playing and queueing ability make it much easier to casually play this game, you dont' have to be married to the computer like in oGame.although you CAN if you choose to. Getting attacked is annoying, but not so much crippling to you that you feel like quitting (like in ogame). Your defenses rebuild at a rate of 1% per hour, and your economy gets borked by 30% when yo get pillaged, and it recovers on it's own too. I've been getting spanked by fighter drops lately.this is where someone comes in with carriers and drops off like 800 fighters and works over your base defenses and then finishes you off with larger ships. we can set up new bases in other galaxies. Once we can make jumpgates, traveling between galaxies will be more practical.i.e. Right now to travel between galaxies takes a really long time.because nobody has jumpgates yet. No, you are probably better off in a later galaxy, because the players there will be newer and closer to your level.

I failed to see where to select the F-29 so will probably die? Join Universe F29 if you want to be in the same galaxy as me (and a few others).we don't have jumpgates yet so traveling between galaxies takes too long (months). Here's a link to the game: Astro Empires That link does include a reference link to my account because you can get a small bonus in res production if people use it. Apparently, it's pretty important to be in a guild in this game. I'm in a guild, UFPTA, and we will accept anyone who joins from here. I've got an IRC channel, #aeUFP if you want to stop by. You get to colonize asteroids, moons, planets (collectively referred to as "astros"). Building queueing, shipyard queueing from the get go.ĥ. I'm still learning but compared to ogame:ġ. The Fenix server started up recently and a few of us joined. Mrcatbert mentioned astro empires.and so far, it kicks ASS! I never played MOO, but people say it reminds them of MOO. Fleet saving and res saving is so damned tedious.
